Epoxy Floor Coatings in Alawa
Alawa is one of Darwin's older suburbs. The NT Place Names Register describes it as one of Darwin's northern suburbs constructed in the late 1960s, a long time before 1990, the year the Territory's asbestos site draws its line. Before a floor in an Alawa house is ground or lifted, ask whether anything on it has been tested.

Epoxy Floor Coatings around Alawa
That date is the suburb's, not a given house's: a house may have been built, rebuilt or renovated in a later year, and only its owner can say which. The 1990 line is the Territory's, for every home, and does not depend on the suburb. Alawa has a page because its register entry puts the suburb's construction well inside that line, which makes the question likelier to matter here than for a house built in the 2000s. It does not make Alawa unique, and this is the weakest of the four suburb pages for that reason.
None of these sources mentions floor coatings, so what follows is our inference, not a rule: before work starts, ask the age of the house and of any later additions, whether old floor coverings and coatings will be tested before they are ground or lifted, and who will do the testing. NT WorkSafe's 2022 release on a Darwin renovation, in which workers drilled into a vermiculite-coated ceiling, does not name a suburb, so we do not place it in Alawa. The older homes page sets out both sources.
